How can we begin to assimilate ourselves to the idea that we are at the very cutting edge of human and social evolution? How can we truly understand ourselves when we dilute our very nature with topics of which only serve to entertain or distract the human mind?
No more do we care about patience and application to diagnose and fix a problem. We rather now on the touch of a button, it’s not that the internet is terrible thing, it is much more than that. Any technology can be used for the perception of the good and the evil. What doesn’t come to us in the click of a button, or the instant of a download, we choose not to deal with. It is far easier to become addicts; addicts of an instant gratification; one that we teach both our children and ourselves. When patience is abandoned you begin to see the downward spiral into the working backbone of whatever institution, state, or group.
Not only have we abandoned patience, however, we have also been led to believe that wealth and beauty exist only in the physical. We have become enthralled in the physical sciences and the technologies that many of them advance with a marriage of a boxed thought. If we could, for a moment, end the oppressive reign that instant gratification and material objects have, the fast pace, don’t slow down or you’ll get left behind approach; we could begin to really think.

Breaking: EPA sued in federal court over illegal human testing

Public health consultant Steve Milloy, publisher of Junkscience.com and the nonprofitAmerican Tradition Institute Environmental Law Center (ATI) have sued the EPA for conducting illegal life- and health-threatening scientific experiments on human subjects. The tests are still ongoing and conducted “with the assistance of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine” according to Milloy.
Milloy says:
Since at least 2004 and up through the Obama administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been secretly testing highly toxic/lethal air pollutants on unhealthy human study subjects for the sole purpose of finding out what harm would be caused by the exposures. In no case, were the human study subjects fully informed of the dangers posed by the experimentation, nor were they intended to benefit from the experimentation.
The mere approval and conduct of these experiments (in which the EPA treated human beings as guinea pigs for toxicity testing), not to mention the EPA’s failure to obtain informed consent from the study subjects, violates virtually every regulation established since World War II, including federal regulations and EPA’s own rules, concerning the protection of human subjects used in scientific experimentation. EPA may also incur criminal and civil liabilities from this conduct.

Nazi-acquired Buddha statue came from space

(LiveScience) It sounds like a mash-up of Indiana Jones’ plots, but German researchers say a heavy Buddha statue brought to Europe by the Nazis was carved from a meteorite that likely fell 10,000 years ago along the Siberia-Mongolia border.
This space Buddha, also known as “iron man” to the researchers, is of unknown age, though the best estimates date the statue to sometime between the eighth and 10th centuries. The carving depicts a man, probably a Buddhist god, perched with his legs tucked in, holding something in his left hand. On his chest is a Buddhist swastika, a symbol of luck that was later co-opted by the Nazi party of Germany.
“One can speculate whether the swastika symbol on the statue was a potential motivation to displace the ‘iron man’ meteorite artifact to Germany,” the researchers wrote online Sept. 14 in the journal Meteoritics & Planetary Science.
